Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is an American actor, singer and model. She was a model for a while before becoming an actress. Most famously, she is known for her part in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain as well as singing lead in Apollonia 6, a girl group. Apollonia was a performer/singer born to Prince in 1984, became one of many female artists of the 1980s who benefitted from Prince. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as a model and actress. The latter part of the 70s was when she was a guest on CHiPS. In 1984, she was the title of female lead for Prince's Purple Rain (during which time the singer changed her name) and replaced Vanity in the female duo Vanity 6 performing with them on the screen under the name Apollonia 6. Sex Shooter from the soundtrack had a small hit for her trio but as Prince's Duet Partner on Take Me with You she became more popular. When the two had a falling out regarding the direction she was taking in her career Apollonia 6 split up and Kotero stopped her collaboration with Prince. The singer then appeared in couple of films that were minor in the late 1980s (reportedly declining an offer to star in the sequel to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon), before settling on a night-time role in the film Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia's debut album was released in 1988. The R&B and dance tracks were not well received by the music buying public. It soon disappeared. She continued acting (if somewhat obscure) throughout the following decade. The small roles on TV as well as minor film roles as well as exercise videos kept her active. Apollonia's Stay With Me album came out in 1997. The singer returned to the university, received a diploma in filmmaking. Then she founded her firm and began working as a child's TV host. In addition Kotero has appeared in music videos for American beauty has appeared in music videos of artists like Ray Parker Jr. and Eddie Money. Kotero has also been an entrepreneur and established Kotero Entertainment an entertainment company that specializes in multimedia entertainment firm.
